Veterinarian Overview
A native of Passaic, New Jersey, Dr. Mitra has always had a passion for helping animals and for nature. He attended Brandeis University where he chartered and was president of the pre-veterinary society. He received his B.S. in Biology in 1998 and then spent 5 years at the Royal Veterinary College in London, England, pursuing his veterinary degree. After working in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, for a year and Middletown, New Jersey, for 8 years, Dr.Mitra joined Sova Animal Hospital as a full time associate in 2013 having been part of the team as a part-time associate since 2007. Dr. Mitra's special interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and exotic medicine. In his "free" time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 year old son, traveling, playing soccer, and maintaining his saltwater reef tank.
