Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Rachel Gardner: After graduating from Cornell with her veterinary degree in 2001, Dr. Rachel Gardner then completed a rotating internship at Blue Ridge Equine Clinic in Earleysville, VA. She then returned to Cornell University to complete a three year residency in internal medicine and received her ACVIM board certification in 2005. She joined B.W. Furlong and Associates that same year as an internal medicine specialist. As the medicine specialist, Dr. Gardner provides specialized diagnostic and therapeutic expertise to horses and foals with complex or uncommon disorders. Some of the common types of cases Dr. Gardner evaluates include respiratory diseases, neurologic diseases, weight loss, gastrointestinal disorders, fevers, cardiac diseases and poor performance. When she is not working, Dr. Gardner can usually be found training for half or full marathons with her dog Stella, working on her house with her husband
