Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Ning Ching Troyer, DVM - Born in Taiwan, Dr. Troyer arrived in the US at the age of 11. Having been deprived of pets as a child, she decided to become a veterinarian at the age of 8. In 2010 she received her DVM degree from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. While in school, she participated in annual mission trips that were organized by Christian Veterinary Missions student chapter. The mission was to share the gospel while bringing veterinary care to both small animal and livestock to the Navajo Nation, a Native American people group in the Utah/Arizona area. Prior to joining Village Animal Hospital, Dr. Troyer worked at a veterinary clinic that was part of a no-kill shelter in Norfolk VA. After getting married, she moved with her two dogs and a cat to Statesville and started working with us in March of 2013. Even though she grew up as a city girl, she has grown quite fond of the quiet North Carolina country. She and her husband Roman recently welcomed a son into their family.
