Veterinarian Overview
Joshua Broadwater was born and raised in the small coal mining town of Lonaconing, Maryland. He attended the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where he studied biology and graduated with highest honors. Dr. Broadwater earned his DVM from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine followed by a one year rotating medicine/surgery internship at Florida Veterinary Specialist in Tampa, FL. He then completed his 3 year ophthalmology residency at the Animal Eye Specialty Clinics of South Florida. After completion of his residency, Dr. Broadwater continued to work in West Palm Beach, FL for 6 years until moving back to his second home in North Carolina. He is currently an ophthalmologist at C.A.R.E., where he has special interest in areas such as cornea disease/surgery, cataract surgery, and glaucoma surgery. In his spare time, Dr. Broadwater enjoys working out, skiing, traveling, playing piano, and spending time with his dog Cooper.
