Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Fluke has wanted to a veterinarian since she was a youngster. She thought she would practice on farm animals and horses...imagine her surprise when she ended up specializing in dogs and cats! She earned her BA from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, and graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. She completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Purdue University before moving to Charlottin 1987. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice, but often finds herself focusing on surgery and behavioral issues.Dr. Fluke is a charter member of the Carolina Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen Club and enjoys showing her PBGVs. She does scent training and competes in hunting trials. She is also a board member of Samaritan House, a recuperative care facility here in Charlotte, where people who are homeless may stay to get well after being discharged from the hospital. When not working or cleaning up after her dogs, she can be found in her garden, repainting her living room, or playing music with the
