Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Larry L. Anthony opened Starkville Veterinary Hospital in 1974 and has cared for pets at our hospital as a general practitioner ever since. He grew up in West Point, about 20 miles from Starkville, where he developed his lifelong love of animals. He attended Mississippi State University and majored in pre-veterinary medicine before continuing his education at Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine. He was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1973. Dr. Anthony has been named "Veterinarian of the Year" by the Starkville Daily News several times. He has been a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Starkville for 35 years and currently serves as an elder. Dr. Anthony has also been a member of the Starkville Rotary Club for the past 30 years. Dr. Anthony is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and a past secretary and board member of the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association. His professional interests include small animal medicine and internal medicine. At home, Dr. Anthony has two cats named Tux and Tig. When he's not caring for pets at the hospital, Dr. Anthony's pastimes include hunting a variety of game, raising beef cattle and spending time with his seven adorable grandchildren.
