Veterinarian Overview
When it comes to veterinary medicine, Dr. Peg Frank most enjoys "the challenge and detective work of properly diagnosing and treating someone's beloved family member while staying within their financial means." She joined her husband, Dr. Thrasher, as owner of Cottage Grove Animal Hospital in March 2001.Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Dr. Frank earned her Bachelor's degree in Zoology and Horticulture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She graduated with Distinction on the Dean's Honor List. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, and while there was the recipient of the J.E. Salsbury Foundation Veterinary Medicine Fellowship Award. Along with her husband, Dr. Frank completed advanced training in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Prince Edward Island's Atlantic Veterinary College.Dr. Frank is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Hospitals Association. Her professional interests include internal medicine, dermatology, general and oral surgery and behavior. She also has a special interest in the treatment of rabbits and guinea pigs. When not practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Frank enjoys trail running, spin class, biking and camping. She and Dr. Thrasher have a daughter named Grace, as well as three dogs named Eatie, Heidi and Sadie.
