Veterinarian Overview
Dr. William Amoroso, III grew up locally in Montgomery County and attended Landon School. He completed his undergraduate and graduate work at Auburn University where he was awarded his Doctor of Veterinary MD. William Amoroso, DVMedicine Degree in 1985. He subsequently spent two years in Tampa, Florida where he attended an internship in ophthalmology and emergency medicine. He is licensed in Maryland, Florida and Alabama. Dr. Amoroso opened his practice, the Falls Road Veterinary Hospital in 1988 located in the Potomac Promenade Center until moving into his new, free-standing, award winning facility, also on Falls Road in Potomac, in 1991.Doctor Amoroso is currently a member of the AVMA, AHAA, DC Academy, FVA, MVA and AAVA Associations.Dr. Amoroso has a special interest in diagnostics and surgery, especially orthopedics. He frequently repairs ACLs and Patella Luxations. His goal is to continually keep his practice up-to-date if not ahead of other comparable practices in all areas, especially diagnostic equipment and services. Our digital x-ray has proven invaluable as well as our endoscope and ultrasound capabilities. Continuing education and advanced training programs are of utmost importance.At the beginning of 2010, Dr. Amoroso designed and constructed a unique 30,000 square foot Veterinary Hospital and Luxury Pet Boarding facility. Located in Urbana, MD this additional location, the Greenbriar Veterinary Hospital & Luxury Pet Resort is now in partnership with his practice in Potomac. A complete range of specialized surgeries is now available through his practice at Greenbriar, as well as resort style boarding with veterinary care, rehabilitation, agility and training services, daycare and pick up services.Dr. Amoroso lives in Potomac with his wife, Rhonda, and their three children. They share their home with a robust black Lab named Coal and a floppy eared Great Dane named Luca
