Veterinarian Overview

I never really had an “Ah-ha” moment when I decided to become a veterinarian. It was just something I somehow knew I wanted to do and it wasn’t an option to not do it. I had pets growing up like most people did, but I found myself always wanting to be with them, dress them in outfits and teach them things. I am not talking “sit and “stay”. I mean teach them things that I was learning in school. When I was 6 or 7 years old, I would sit my very patient, old Golden Retriever, Allie, at the bottom of our stairs and put a chalkboard up across from her and teach her my spelling words, about leaves and flowers, and later Spanish vocabulary and algebra! As time went by, I started adding my stuffed animals to fill the class. I would administer tests and prop pencils up against them (yes, even against the dog). My cat as you can imagine, would not stay in her assigned seat! I had a little nurse’s office set up for the “students”, recorded the morning announcements on “My First Sony”, organized field trips, and pulled them around in a wagon which served as the school bus. I sometimes managed to incorporate some human students into the class - the neighbor kids and my younger brother (who ended up skipping a Spanish class in middle school due to his extensive vocabulary!). I always loved anything to do with animals and teaching. Becoming a veterinarian is the best of both worlds. You have the opportunity to work with animals and improve their quality of life, as well as interact with people and educate them on the best course of action to heal/care for their pet.

I brought Dr Morsberger a great challenge; a rescued German Shepherd that had skin problems, ear problem, and a fused spine Dr Morsberger did the absolute best on a very large 8 year old dog that had no history other than he spent months in a kennel run. He came to us at 71 lbs and left us at 87 lbs. and a a full cost of hair. The pain caused by his fused spine could only call for a pain maintenance regime and laser treatments. We were in her clinic approximately 2 times each month. She always was patient and caring. I would recommend Dr M to anyone.
