Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Gilmore is a native of Prairie Village. After practicing for eight years at Mill Creek Animal Hospital, he purchased the Hospital from Dr. Mears in 2009. Dr. Gilmore received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and a PhD in Immunopathology from Kansas State University. He is a member of the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association, the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. "I have come to realize that I most cherish being able to empower pet owners to be better stewards of their furry family members," he says, "and contributing to that special bond between person and pet." Following completion of an internship at a large specialty and referral center in Chicago, he returned home to Kansas City. Dr. Gilmore has particular interest in all aspects of feline and internal medicine, as well as dentistry, oral surgery, ultrasound, and preventative health care. In his spare time Dr. Gilmore works in his wood shop and is a US Soccer Association Certified soccer coach. His wife, Mendy, is an executive VP and corporate recruiter for Price Waterhouse Coopers and they have five children, Jack, Grayson, Ryann, Molly and Lucas.
