Veterinarian Overview
A Kansas City native, Dr. Mears and his family live in Shawnee. He is active in the local Chamber of Commerce, as well as his church. Dr. Mears completed his undergraduate and veterinary medical degrees at Kansas State University, and founded Mill Creek in 1990 with the goal of providing state-of-the-art medical and surgical care for companion animals at a reasonable price. Dr. Mears has a special interest in surgery, geriatrics, and behavior and is a member of the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association, the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. He has successfully completed more than 150 reconstructive knee surgeries as well as many patellar surgeries and fracture repairs. "It is a real pleasure to help people have more fulfilled lives by helping their pets stay healthy and happy," he says. Dr. Mears has a Yorkie named Twinkle. In his spare time he enjoys running, yoga, biking, and spending time with his family.
