Veterinarian Overview
Originally from Hays, Kansas, Dr. Schmidt spent many summers working on dairy or beef farms owned by family members. This is where he developed his love for animals and his appreciation for the work done by the local veterinarian. After school jobs at the Hays Veterinary Clinic taught Dr. Schmidt dedication to patients and client communication through working with Dr. Steve Mosier, a renowned clinician in Western Kansas for decades. Dr. Schmidt graduated form Kansas State University in 1985 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine and a Masters Degree in Pathology under Dr. Horst Liepold. He developed a strong desire to practice small animal medicine with an emphasis on diagnostic procedures. Dr. Schmidt has lived and worked in Prairie Village for 23 years and looks forward to helping pets in this area for many years to come
