Veterinarian Overview
Our newest addition to the Fishers Veterinary Associates staff is Dr. Jim Dechand (pronounced Dagan). He has been practicing veterinary medicine for 21 years in the Indianapolis area. Dr. Dechand holds a BS in Animal Science from McPherson College and he graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. He has been married to his wife Teresa for 25 years and they have two daughters, Mackenzie and Jacqueline. They share their household with their cat Ty. Dr Dechand has an interest in exotic animals (pets kept in terrariums and small cages) and dentistry. At home he enjoys working with the Westfield High School band boosters, serving at his church (Church at the Crossing) and working in his yard.
