Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Barenie graduated from the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. She has worked in various small animal practices in northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana. She joined our staff in 2013 and is very excited about providing high quality medicine to her patients. Special Interests include soft tissue surgery, dermatology and dentistryA "region rat" at heart, she and her husband Paul moved back to the area in 1998 to remain close to family. They have one daughter, Jessica.Their animal family includes 3 cats--"Abby", "Roxy", and "Kit Kat", various fish, and an ancient cockatiel named "Muczka". In her spare time, Dr. Barenie enjoys camping, cross-stitch, jogging, playing piano, guitar and trombone, riding her motorcycle, lectoring at church, and visiting family.We are very blessed to have Dr. Barenie join our practice family! She provides some of our surgical and dental care as well as seeing patients for medical cases. Come say Hi to her Thursdays, Fridays and 1 Saturday a month!!
