Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Thunberg received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University in May of 2005. Following graduation, he completed a one-year small animal rotating internship and three-year small animal surgical residency at a private practice specialty hospital in west Los Angeles. Dr. Thunberg then relocated to Indianapolis in 2009 and worked as a staff surgeon at a specialty hospital in Indianapolis until becoming one of the Owner/Medical Directors of Bloomington Veterinary Hospital in December 2012. Dr. Thunberg performs a wide range of surgical procedures including orthopedics (TTA, fracture repair, corrective osteotomies), neurologic surgeries (hemilaminectomy, dorsal laminectomy), and soft tissue procedures. In Dr. Thunbergs off time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Alison, daughter Melanie, son Zachary, two dogs Logan and Roxie, and cat Timmy
