Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Brittany Childs provides high quality veterinary care for exotic pets, as well as for dogs and cats. Exotics pets include rabbits, Guinea pigs, chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils, rats, mice, ferrets, turtles, non-venomous snakes, bearded dragons, leopard geckos, blue-tongued skinks, small and medium birds and large parrots. Dr. Childs is no stranger to West Suburban Veterinary Associates. She was carried the first time she came in the door at WSVA. That's because she was a one-year-old tot and the family dog, Pal, needed care. The Downers Grove Childs family would visit WSVA many times with a variety of pets throughout Dr. Childs' youth. Every summer during high school, from 2004 2008, she worked as an assistant at WSVA. She came to love the hospital, the medical team and especially the patients. Her career path was certain. Dr. Childs received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2016 from the University of Illinois, Champaign, and her Bachelor of Arts in Biology with minors in Environmental Studies and Biochemistry in 2012 from Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family.
