Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Sandy Behm received both her BS in Animal Ecology and her DVM from Iowa State University. After graduation she practiced at Hoffman Estates Animal Hospital until 2011. She continued to work in the Chicagoland area at another general small animal practice and also at a feline only clinic. Starting October 2015, she has returned to Hoffman Estates Animal Hospital and is excited to be back! During veterinary school she was able to spend four weeks at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital in Hannover, Germany and two weeks at the Agricultural Veterinary School in Beijing, China. Both experiences showed her that the human animal bond is important throughout the world. Dr. Behm enjoys the variety in veterinary medicine, but especially enjoys soft tissue surgery and dentistry. She has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was six years old and cant remember wanting to be anything else! She and her husband Scott share their home with two miniature dachshunds (Genevieve and Dustin) and five cats (Orangey, Stormy, Singe, Sylvia, and The Biz.) In her free time Dr. Behm enjoys swimming, reading, and traveling.
