Veterinarian Overview
Always fond of animals, Dr. Cristin Cruikshank grew up having play dates with both two- and four-legged friends. The daughter of a nursing instructor, her life included lessons in medicine, anatomy, compassion and empathy. She had early dreams of becoming a veterinarian, but her talents for math and science led her to a degree in biomedical engineering, and she worked as a software test engineer for a number of years before deciding to pursue veterinary medicine. She hopes to combine engineering and veterinary medicine into a career that benefits both animal and human fields of medicine. Dr. Cruikshanks primary interest is in medical imaging, and she hopes to enter a specialty that regularly utilizes advanced imaging, such as radiology, cardiology or neurology.
