Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Carey was born and raised in a small town in central Kansas. She received her Bachelors of Science from Kansas State Teachers College and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1982 from Kansas State University. Upon graduating in 1982 she relocated to the Chicago area where shes been practicing in the New Lenox area for 32 years. In January of 2000, she opened her own practice. The practice continued to grow, prompting her to purchase the first original firehouse in New Lenox (known as Station 1) in 2011. After a complete renovation the practice moved to its current location in May of 2012. Dr. Carey enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Medicine, but has a special interest in feline medicine and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Carey is a member of the AVMA, Feline Practioners, Illinois Veterinary Association & AAHA. Dr. Carey enjoys traveling, reading and antiquing. Dr. Carey has a family of seven Pekingese that she acquired through the rescue organizations she works with.
