Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Gilbertson graduated from University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. After graduating, she worked at Gold Coast Animal Hospital in Chicago for four years before moving to the suburbs in 2012 where she worked at Heartland Animal Hospital in Bartlett until joining the staff at Red Barn Animal Hospital in 2017. She specializes in internal medicine, especially geriatrics, and surgery. She loves to offer therapies that not only improve the quality of life of pets but also extends the time they have with their owners. She has Bentley a fifteen-year-old border terrier, Billy Jean a seven-year-old Shephard mix, Frankie Crackers a three-year-old Himalayan mix, D. Claude a five-year-old domestic short hair cat, and two fish. Dr. Gilbertson likes to go running when she has time and has completed several marathons. Reading books is also a pleasure but nowadays listens to books on tape and podcasts. She likes to have dance parties with her four-year-old daughter on the weekends.
