Ann Bancroft, DVM, CCRP, is a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner at MedVet Columbus where she also serves as the Specialty Leader of the Rehabilitation & Integrative Medicine departments. Dr. Bancroft is also certified in Animal Chiropractic by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA) and is certified in laser use and safety through the American Institute of Medical Laser Applications (AIMLA).Dr. Bancroft attended the Columbus College of Art and Design and Otterbein University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following her graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Bancroft completed a yearlong internship in small animal medicine and surgery at MedVet Medical & Cancer for Pets, in Columbus, Ohio.Dr. Bancroft has been a part of the MedVet Columbus Family since 1998 working in nursing, dermatology, internal medicine, neurology and cardiology before attending veterinary school. After completing her internship, Dr. Bancroft worked as a hospitalist in Internal Medicine and was the Cardiology study coordinator for two clinical studies at MedVet Columbus. She completed her canine rehabilitation certification at the University of Tennessee in 2010 and her certification in Animal Chiropractic in 2014.As an active advocate of continuing education for veterinary professionals, Dr. Bancroft lectures on rehabilitation therapy, laser therapy and other integrative medicine topics on a regular basis. She has an active membership with several rehabilitation therapy organizations and is an active member of the International Academy of Veterinary Pain Management. Her national certification with the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association demonstrates her commitment to professional growth and development in this area.Dr. Bancroft appreciates the advancement of science and patient care. She has participated in several clinical trials as a clinical investigator at MedVet. One study looked at the efficacy and safety of BAY 41-9202 in dogs with heart disease from November 2008-January 2013 to determine if this drug would slow the onset of congestive heart failure in dogs with mild-moderate mitral valve disease (MVD).Dr. Bancroft maintains an interest in all aspects of small animal rehabilitation with particular interest in the use of low-level laser therapy, animal chiropractic, pain management, and the human animal bond. As a veterinarian certified in canine rehabilitation therapy, Dr. Bancroft takes into consideration the entire health of the pet, as well as the disease process at hand, to select the best therapy plan for the patient. With over 17 years of experience at MedVet, she works closely with other specialists to integrate appropriate therapies for her patients.Dr. Bancroft competed in Hunter Jumper and Dressage equestrian sports as a child and through college. When she is not treating patients, Dr. Bancroft enjoys fishing, traveling, and spending time outside with her family and pets.
