Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Jenna Epstein realized she wanted to be a veterinarian from an early age because she loved animals and wanted to find a way to help them. She loves learning about animal behavior, genetics and nutrition and how each of these aspects factor into managing disease processes. Dr. Epstein applied to veterinary school because she loved medicine and the different facets that contribute to the care and quality of life for animals. After studying abroad in South Africa and learning about wildlife veterinary medicine and the role it plays in the conservation and care of the native animals there, she realized that she had a passion for zoo medicine. She has completed an animal care internship at the Brookfield Zoo where she has worked with the marine mammals. Her ultimate goal is to continue to follow that passion in zoo medicine and conservation.
