Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Winokur was born in New York City, New York. He received his Bachelor of Science from S.U.N.Y College at Cortland. His father was a small animal veterinarian who had a solo practice in Larchmont, NY. He spent a few summers and the year after college graduation working at his fathers practice. This provided the motivation for Dr. Winokur to pursue a life in the field of veterinary medicine. He moved to Georgia to attend the Veterinary College at the University of Georgia. Prior to matriculation at Georgia, he worked towards a Masters Degree at Emory Medical School in the physiology department. As a grad student, an Atlanta lacrosse teammate and employee of PRAH introduced him to Dr. Petty. Thereafter, he worked as a technician for Dr. Petty, the previous owner of Pharr Road Animal Hospital, and the late Dr. Ben Tucker prior to acceptance to veterinary school.
