Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Averill established Averill Animal Hospital in 1983Dr. Averill moved to Georgia in 1974 from New Orleans and has lived in Dahlonega since 1993. He graduated from high school in New Orleans in 1965 and received his B.S. in Agriculture for Dairy Manufacturing from the University of Southwestern Louisiana at Lafayette in 1970. He received his D.V.M. from Auburn University in 1974. Dr. Averills hobbies include the sport of purebred dogs, golfing, fishing, and bowling.His family includes his inspiring wife, Donna, and four wonderful children: Kenny, Joanne, Russell and Megan. His family also includes horses, sheep, a parrot, a canary, peacocks, cats and dogs. He attends St. Lukes Catholic Church in Dahlonega. Dr. Averills interests in veterinary medicine include surgery, animal husbandry and theriogenology. In June 2012 Dr. Averill accomplished one of his life long goals of becoming an AKC Judge!
