Veterinarian Overview
After earning his veterinary degree, Dr. James accepted a position at a 24-hour emergency and critical care facility in Indianapolis where he also completed his residency through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, gaining skills in ultrasonography and endoscopy.Dr. James then moved to Tennessee to work at RIVER, initially in emergency/critical care, then transitioning to the surgery department. While there, he was accepted into the surgical residency program, which he completed in 2014. He currently is preparing to take his surgical board exams in February 2016. Also a certified canine rehabilitation therapist, Dr. James has a special interest in neurological conditions and sports injuries.Outside of work, Dr. James is an avid cyclist and bike mechanic who also has a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. When relaxing, he enjoys the company of his two dogs and two cats.
