Veterinarian Overview
Dr. van den Brand has been bringing his lighthearted demeanor and professionalism to Southpaw Animal Health since 1998. He was born in New York but grew up in several countries in Europe. He attended the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands where he completed his veterinary training and performed part of his rotation at the University of Florida. Dr. van den Brand has a particular interest in orthopedics, and he is Southpaws primary orthopedic surgeon. He also loves to ski, fish, and enjoys traveling. In his free time Dr. van den Brand enjoys working with his hands outside of the surgical suite by working on his cars, motorcycle, and home. He and his wife enjoy the company of their pets which include one dog, two cats, and three horses: they acquired all but one through rescue.
