Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Serena Bloom is one of the newest additions to Country Chase Veterinary, joining the team in July 2015. She is very excited to experience Tampa and meet more of the animals and people of the Gulf Coast! She is a two-time Gator Graduate, earning her undergraduate degrees and doctorate from the University of Florida.Dr. Bloom finished her undergraduate career with a Summa Cum Laude degree in Art History, a Cum Laude degree in Zoology and a minor in International Studies. She always had an interest in animals, conservation, pursued research in alligators, the evolution of male parental behavior in fish, and other subjects, before eventually finding her passion in Veterinary Medicine.Dr. Bloom is dedicated to treating every pet like family and providing the best possible care to all of her patients. Her special interests include preventative medicine, the human/animal bond, exotic medicine and husbandry, behavior, rehabilitation, and hospice care; although she is always finding more. In her spare time Dr. Bloom enjoys playtime with her own pets: Chewbaccca, a Catahoula/American Bulldog mix, Yeti The Abominable Snowman, a furry white cat, and Thumper The Pirate Bunny, an one-eyed, bob-tailed cat. Her hobbies also include art, reading, hiking, fishing, traveling, and discovering new adventures.
