Veterinarian Overview
Dr. McNicholas is veterinary surgeon with more than 16 years experience in a surgical setting. He graduated in 1994 from The University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine with honors, and he has been board certified in veterinary surgery since 2003. Dr. McNicholas enjoys all aspects of veterinary surgery including soft tissue, orthopedic, and neurosurgical procedures.Dr. McNicholas began his veterinary career more than 20 years ago as a general practitioner in St. Augustine, Florida. Throughout his career, Dr. McNicholas has maintained an active role in contributions to the practice of veterinary surgery through research, publications, presentations, and consulting. He is the current president of the Jacksonville Veterinary Medical Society (JVMS), and his most recent work in the development of an innovative technique in Achilles tendon repair was presented at the 2015 Annual Veterinary Orthopedic Society Conference in Sun Valley, Idaho, the 2014 Arthrex Veterinary Association of Arthrology Advancement in Naples FloridaDr. McNicholas is married to Janna and has two daughters, Madison and Evelyn, and three dogs, Star, Piper, and Princess
