Veterinarian Overview
Dr. John Fifarek had a strong interest in medicine as well as a strong love for animals. Dr. John grew up in Haslett, Michigan and spent his summers on the lakes in Traverse City. He attended Michigan State University and graduated from the college of Lyman Briggs with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. While at Michigan State University, Dr. John spent two years working at their College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. John decided to pursue his veterinary medical degree, and attended Ross University. He finished his clinical rotations up in Gainesville at the University of Florida and during this time spent several months working as extern with Dr. Dave Smith at Sarasota Veterinary Center. Dr. John graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. Having spent the previous 4 years attending veterinary school in such a warm climate, Dr. John decided he wanted to remain in Florida. He moved to the Sarasota area and joined the staff of Sarasota Veterinary Center. Dr. John spends his free time enjoying outdoor activities with his yellow lab named Lili.
