Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Marcy Platzer | A SGU vet school graduate and a new resident to Pensacola. She grew up in Coral Springs, Florida within her family's Austrian-German restaurant business. She began playing the violin at 6 years old and then switched to the viola in middle school. When she wasn't helping out with the family business, she competed in county and state wide orchestras. She went to Florida State University for undergrad where she became involved with the animal shelter, wildlife rehabilitation, and public health veterinary medicine. She always knew she wanted to study abroad so she made Grenada her home for three years while she studied at St. George's University of Veterinary Medicine. She then lived in Knoxville to complete her 4th clinical year at the University of Tennessee. Her passions include animals, nature, music, good company, and traveling. She has two fur babies, Nala (12 year old Siamese) and Poppy (2 year old pothound). She enjoys surgery and exotic animal medicine.
