Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Lisardo Martinez is a life-long animal lover, much influenced by his father, also a veterinarian. He grew up in Miami, graduating from Southwest Miami High School. He attended the University of Florida from which he graduated with High Honors in 1982. After graduation, he practiced in group practices in Miami until starting Westbird Animal Hospital in 1987. Over the years he has had the privilege, responsibility, and blessing of sharing in that special bond which exists between his clients and their pets. Dr. Martinez is a member of local, state and national veterinary associations. He has been married to Carmen, the Westbird Animal Hospital Office Manager, for 35 years. He is the father of Dito, Michael and Virginia, and has 4 grandchildren. He enjoys reading, gardening and watching the Gators and Dolphins win. Dr. Martinez can always be found with his constant companion, Bonnie, his Chesapeake Bay Retriever, and Shirley, a Boston Terrier.
