Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Michael Reese obtained his undergraduate degree in microbiology from Ohio State University, and then his DVM from the University of Florida. He continued his education by pursuing a general rotating internship at Tufts University, followed by a neurology internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Texas. He then completed a residency in neurology/neurosurgery at Purdue University in Indiana. During his residency, Dr. Reese won three awards for his teaching and patient care. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Reese became a board-certified neurologist. He stayed as faculty at Purdue University after his residency before returning to Florida. He and his wife Carissa have joined the team at Southeast Veterinary Neurology. His interests include neurosurgery and management of brain diseases (tumors, infectious and non-infectious diseases). Outside of the hospital Dr. Reese enjoys the outdoors. Fishing, kayaking, and hiking are among his favorite activities, but he also enjoys taking his two dogs, Phoebe and Porter, out on their walks.
