Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Julie Paulsen is a 2000 graduate of the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Her path towards becoming a veterinarian began here locally in Palm City, where she grew up riding horses and raising steer for the local 4-H club. She gained large animal experience while riding with local veterinarians on farm calls and small animal experience volunteering at local veterinary clinics. After graduating from veterinary school, she worked in upstate New York focusing on both small and large animals. She was able to experience working with a variety of farm animals in a rural setting while also practicing small animal medicine and surgery. In 2002, she relocated to Wellington, FL for an internship at Palm Beach Equine Clinic. After completing her internship, she moved back to her hometown, Palm City, where she continued practicing equine medicine while simultaneously working at local small animal hospital. Wanting to venture out on her own, in 2005, she retired from equine medicine and purchased Cats & Dogs Veterinary Clinic in Stuart. She owned and operated her clinic until 2015, when she merged with Ocean Breeze Animal Hospital. She strongly believes in creating and maintaining an open, honest, yet professional relationship with her clients. In fact, many of her clients and patients have trusted her so much over the years that they have since followed her to our clinic here in sunny, friendly Jensen Beach. Dr. Paulsen lives locally with her husband and two children. They share their home with Camo, a black Labrador and Skully, the parakeet. In her personal time, she enjoys paddle boarding, practicing yoga, boating and fishing with her family.
