Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Anna Maxwell was born in Wiesbaden, Germany and grew up traveling all over the world as military families do. She graduated from the Columbus State University with a B.S. in Biology and moved to Gainesville to work as a biological scientist at the University of Florida. She spent three years doing liver research under the direction of Dr. Meyer. In 1993 she received her D.V.M. degree from the University of Florida. There she was awarded the Wilson Scholarship in1991 and the Summer Research Training Award in 1990. During her senior year she attended the University of Washington, studying Laboratory Animal Medicine. Prior to coming to Ark Animal Hospital, she practiced small animal medicine in her hometown of Gainesville. Although she enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, she has a special interest in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, as well as reptilian medicine. Dr. Maxwell resides in St Augustine
