Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Mark Hullstrung was born in Rockville Centre, NY and grew up in Ramsey, NJ. He always loved animals and wanted to be a Veterinarian as far back as he can remember. As a boy his pets included dogs, cats, rabbits and bantam chickens.Dr. Hullstrung graduated magna cum laude from University of Vermont attaining a B.S. in the Pre-Veterinary program. He earned his Veterinary Medical Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.After graduating veterinary school Dr. Hullstrung worked several years in northern NJ. He then opened the Allendale Animal Hospital in NJ, which he owned for 24 years prior to moving to Florida in 2004 with his wife, Toni, and daughter, Samantha. The practice specialized in small animals with patients including cats, dogs, ferrets and rabbits. His most famous client was President Richard Nixon, whose dog, Brownie, was a lifelong patient at the hospital. Since moving to FL he has worked as a relief Veterinarian at several local animal hospitals including Baywood. He is excited to become a permanent member of the Baywood family.The family pets include Gelato, a Golden Retriever, CocoaMo, a Somali cat, and Chai Tea Latte, a cream colored tabby who was adopted at Lee County Animal Services. Dr. Hullstrung enjoys swimming, boating, fishing and vacationing in Vermont, Captiva and the Florida Keys
