Veterinarian Overview
Following two years of graduate studies and research at the University of Florida focusing on equine reproduction and physiology, Dr. Twilla received her veterinary degree from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her internship at the Equine Medical Center in Ocala where she developed a proficiency in diagnosing and treating equine disorders. Her strengths and special areas of interest are in lameness, advanced reproductive services, emergency medicine and acupuncture. Dr. Twilla is driven to expand her professional knowledge and has recently completed her chiropractic training and is a Certified Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapist (CVSMT). Dr. Twilla was born and raised in southern New Jersey during which time she spent countless hours at the barn with her horses. She rode and competed, primarily in the hunter/jumper discipline. She continued riding throughout her undergraduate studies and rode for the West Virginia University Intercollegiate Equestrian Team. Dr. Twilla's love of riding remains and she is the proud owner of Arabella, a young horse who she is also training. When not pursuing her equine passions Dr. Twilla and her husband Mark, a small animal veterinarian, enjoy outdoor activities including backpacking, skiing, and tennis. They have recently backpacked Glacier National Park in MT and Pecos Wilderness in NM. In December of 2015, they welcomed their son Ian to the Twilla family.
