Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Patricia Futoma grew up in Connecticut and graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. She received the Kirklyn M. Kerr Veterinary Scholarship and went on to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University. During veterinary school, Dr. Futoma worked for the Center of Food Security and Public Health, where she co-authored a chapter in the book Zoonoses: Protecting People and Their Pets. Dr. Futoma was a volunteer coordinator for Feral Cat Alliance, an organization that provided spay and neuter services for the general public. She also completed preceptorships at the Nebraska Humane Society, The Institute for International Cooperation in Animal Biologics, and a wildlife immobilization course in South Africa. After graduation, Dr. Futoma first practiced in central Florida. A few of her interests in veterinary medicine include preventative medicine, internal medicine and oncology. She is currently a member of the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association), and the FVMA (Florida Veterinary Medical Association). When not working, Dr. Futoma can be found spending time with her rescued dogs, PJ, a pug mix, and Kuma, a pit bull cross. Her outdoor interests include stand up paddle boarding, running and spending time at the beach. She loves to travel and has previously volunteered with World Vets, an organization that provides free spay and neuter services overseas. Dr. Futoma is excited to be in the Belleair area and is devoted to the health and well-being of your pet!
