Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Levenson brings passion for emergency medicine, critical care, trauma management, and a focus on general emergency surgery to the PESCM team. His career interests include communication under stressful situations, management of the post-operative patient, and pet cancer care. Michael relocated to San Francisco in 2017 with his partner, Emily, and their tortoiseshell cat, Zephyr, from his hometown of Washington, DC. Michael obtained his VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania. After veterinary school, he pursued two additional years of advanced training at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, DC where he gained exposure to specialty care with a focus on critical care, surgery, oncology, radiology, neurology, clinical pathology, and anesthesia. Outside of work he is an avid yogi, Marin County hiker with a fondness for the Bolinas Ridge Trail, downhill skier, gardener, and culinary enthusiast.
