Veterinarian Overview
Sara Huckabone was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. She graduated with a degree in Biology from Wellesley College. Having always had a love of aquatic animals, she spent time in college doing research at the New England Aquarium and also volunteering with a local veterinarian. After college she worked at a wildlife rehabilitation center where she was introduced to acupuncture and holistic medicine. She also spent time teaching outdoor education in San Mateo and leading backpacking trips in Yosemite. She attended Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2013. While in veterinary school she helped to run the schools student chapter of the American Holistic Veterinary Association, and she also served as a student representative on the national board. She moved back to Pescadero, CA in 2013 and completed a course in veterinary acupuncture form the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society in 2015. Her professional interests include wildlife medicine, and when she is not working with cats and dogs, volunteering on sea otter research projects with the CA Department of Fish and Game. She spends her free time hiking around the Coastside and throwing pottery. She lives in Pescadero with her partner Casey, and her cat Bee.
