Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Rani Reuter was born in Santa Barbara, California and grew up in Laramie, Wyoming. After graduating from UC San Diego with a BS in cell biology/biochemistry in 1992, she attended UC Davis and earned her doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) in 1996. You may recognize Dr. Reuter from the Animal Planet Reality Show E.R Vets where she took part in the premier season while completing an internship at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver, Colorado. From there Dr. Reuter worked in small animal practices in Michigan and Connecticut before returning to California. Dr. Reuter takes a special interest in the human-animal bond. She welcomes children to listen to their puppies heartbeat in the exam room, she enjoys hearing clients share funny dog-antic stories, and shes always there to hold the hand of owners saying good-bye to their ailing pet. For Dr. Reuter every day brings something new and fulfilling. Dr. Reuters hobbies and interests include hiking, backpacking, running, skiing, cooking, and traveling. She and her husband, Dr. Jon Reuter, live in Carmel Valley with their 2 sons, 2 dogs, 3 cats, 2 mice, a gecko, and a tank full of fish.
