Veterinarian Overview
Growing up on a llama farm, Dr. Kelby Weaver was destined to be a Veterinarian. She graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011; she then interned at San Francisco Veterinary Specialists, rotating through various specialties. Her passion for veterinary medicine started as a youngster but approaching college, she wanted to expand her horizons. Dr. Weaver attended a graduate program in Polymer Science and Engineering at the University of Southern Mississippi. Although she enjoyed the science, she missed her connection with animals and their people. After graduating, she moved back to California to attend veterinary school. As a veterinarian, Dr. Weaver takes pleasure in developing relationships with her patients and clients. Her goal is to always provide the most information so the best decisions can be made for her patients. When we asked which areas were her favorite, she said she loves them all, but especially surgery/dentistry, pain management, anesthesia, and dermatology. Dr. Weaver lives with her husband and their three dogs. Squirrel is a 5 year old, female Teacup Poodle that Dr. Weaver rescued from a shelter. Abercrombie is a 12 year old female long hair Chihuahua who Dr. Weaver commonly refers to as "fat and sassy". Riezl is the newest addition to the family, a male Standard Poodle who loves to watch the birds and attack the sprinklers. When not at work, Dr. Weaver enjoys hand embroidery (a nod to her love for surgery), garment construction/sewing, and riding around town on her Vespa.
