Could or would not develop a differential diagnosis* for my pet's ailment. Could or would not explain mechanisms of action of the four treatments which she recommended (one was a medication and the remaining three were prescription diets) Recommended a paucity of treatments which, I have to admit was in keeping with the paucity of diagnostic possibilities which she thought possible. When showing me the x-ray taken of my pet raised her voice and declared that the only diagnosis she proposed was the correct diagnosis. The first dietary treatment failed and my pet's condition worsened; either from the diet or from the underlying illness. I again asked for a differential diagnosis. She did not expand further from her origninal comments*. When I became upset that she was unable or unwilling to do this, she discharged my pet from her practice and made no referral for ongoing evaluation or treatment (i.e., I and my pet were effectively abandoned.
