Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Starr Cameron is a graduate of Carroll University Liberal Arts College where she earned a BS in Biology. She received her BVetMed (UK equivalent of a DVM) from the Royal Veterinary College, in London, England UK (2009). Dr. Cameron completed an internship in small animal internal medicine and surgery at Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center (2010). She then completed a residency in neurology and neurosurgery at Cornell Universitys Hospital for Animals (2013). Dr. Cameron became board certified in internal medicine (neurology) in 2013. Dr. Cameron also has a Certificate in Neurosurgery, which requires extensive surgical training for completion.Dr. Cameron enjoys neurology because of the diversity of treating both medical and surgical conditions, routinely. She is particularly interested in treating seizures, as well as performing neurosurgery, including treating intervertebral disc disease.When not practicing, Starr enjoys traveling, being outside, and yoga. Dr. Cameron also volunteers in a mentoring program in the Bay Area called Friends for Youth. She is the proud owner of Josie, a delightful one-of-a-kind mixed-breed dog. Josie and Dr. Cameron are part of the Share-A-Pet volunteer organization, as Josie has recently become a certified therapy dog. Dr. Cameron also has a domestic short-haired cat named Chloe, whom she brought over from the UK when she finished veterinary school.
