Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Ryan Goupil is a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York where he received his BS in Animal Science (2008) and his DVM (2011). After veterinary school, he completed a small animal rotating internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, New Jersey. He finds the pace and unexpectedness of emergency and critical care medicine to be a continued source of growth and interest, not to mention the relief he can provide pet owners in some of their greatest times of need. Emergency visits continue to stimulate Dr. Goupils interest in pharmacology and finding the right cocktail of therapies for each individual pet.Ryan grew up on a dairy farm in upstate New York and assisted his grandmother, a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, with many woodland creatures of the Adirondacks. His favorite? Raptors. Dr. Goupil found great reward in nursing hawks, owls and falcons to health and seeing them regain flight. His love of an outdoor lifestyle lured him to the Bay Area, where he and his dog, Kiki, enjoy time in the mountains and at the beach.
