Dr. Chang graduated from Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 Awards and Accomplishments Veterinary School years Co-chair of the International Veterinary Student Association Orchestrated “International Night”, an educational dinner event prompting cultural diversity and awareness in the veterinary field Volunteered for rabbit spay and neuter event at the Long Beach City College She has received multiple outstanding five star reviews for her superior customer service Years in Veterinary Practice: As a volunteer for the Feral Cat Coalition in San Diego, Dr. Chang has performed numerous spays and neuters to feral cats in the San Diego area. Dr. Chang has also received additional training in abdominal ultrasound through board certified radiologists outside of veterinary school and is able to perform simple ultrasound examinations on a case by case basis. Experience: For over three years, Dr. Chang has refined her skills as a general practitioner in a small animal practice. She has developed an affinity towards pocket pets and seeks to provide even more specialized care for them. Having seen a variety of medicine and surgery cases, Dr. Chang is up for any challenge and enjoys treating patients both medically as well as surgically. Philosophy: “Do no harm” Dr. Chang believes in providing excellent medicine balanced with improving the patient’s quality of life and taking the family’s circumstances into consideration. Family: Dr. Chang was born in Southern California. She met her husband, Danny, while completing her undergraduate studies at UC San Diego. They currently have three cats; Max, Izzy, and Arthur. Max is the most laid back and huggable Maine Coon mix, Izzy is the gorgeous but shy female of the mix, and Arthur is the young troublemaker of the crew. In their spare time, Danny and Vivian enjoy hiking, traveling, hanging out at the beach, and watching movies Future Goals: Dr. Chang’s immediate goals are to develop long lasting relationships with her patients as well as their families. She is also working towards mastering her skills in ultrasound to better serve her patients who may not be able to go to a specialist due to financial constraints. Her long term plan is to combine her love of travel with her passion for veterinary medicine by volunteering her services in other less privileged countries
