Veterinarian Overview
Saving pets lives and improving their quality of life are common occurrences for many accomplished veterinarians. But saving your own dogs eye is a much more personal endeavor, one which Dr. Mar recently experienced with Micah, her American Eskimo Dog. Fortunately, Dr. Mars professional skill set resulted in a happy-ending tale.Following undergraduate studies at UC-Irvine and graduate school at California Polytechnic University, Dr. Mar earned her DVM at Colorado State University in 2000. She completed her internship at Cornell University Hospital for Animals in 2001 and her residency at Eye Care for Animals in 2004.Dr. Mar specializes in the medical and surgical management of eye diseases. She is particularly interested in determining the underlying cause or causes of eye conditions, and treating patients through the integration of medical, surgical, nutritional and supportive therapies. She works closely with other specialists and is dedicated to improving the quality of pets lives through the maintenance of ocular health.Dr. Mar also performs pre-breeding eye examinations for dogs.
