Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Amanda Perman, DVM, grew up in the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri. She began her studies with a bachelor's of science in biochemistry at the University of Missouri, Columbia, graduating summa cum laude. She stayed at the University of Missouri to complete her veterinary medical degree with honors in 2012. Following graduation, Dr. Perman extended her education with an internship at the Virginia Tech Veterinary Teaching Hospital, rotating through the small animal medicine and surgery services. Discovering a special interest in ophthalmology, she then completed a 1 year internship at an ophthalmology practice in Norwalk, Connecticut to better her understanding of the diseases that may affect the eyes. In 2014, Dr. Perman moved to the bay area to be close to family. She now lives in San Francisco with her Siberian husky, Kyuzo. In her down time, she enjoys hiking, camping, snowboarding, picnics in the park, and riding her motorcycle.
