Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Wayne Kopit graduated from the U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. He then completed a rotating internship in radiology, internal medicine and surgery at the California Animal Hospital in 1985. Dr. Kopit took over Brook-Ellis Pet Hospital in October, 1985. Dr. "Wayne" comes from a family of Veterinarians. His father and two of his three brothers are all Veterinarians. Dr. Wayne's wife, Dr. Diane Steinberg is also a Veterinarian and is Board Certified as a feline specialist. In addition to dogs and cats, Dr. Wayne has a special interest in Reptile Medicine and surgery as well as other small mammals. He will treat snakes, lizards, turtles and amphibians as well as rabbits, rodents, guinea pigs and chinchillas. Dr. Kopit will not treat venomous reptiles. Dr. Kopit enjoys surfing, fishing, photography and being with his family and pets. He has two daughters, Andi and Jamie, 2 snakes, 3 cats and "Fin" a Border Terrier.
