Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Aleksandra Canseco was born in Warsaw, Poland. At the age of 6 she went on a family road trip to beautiful northern Italy. A few weeks into the vacation her mom informed her that she was to start primary school. This is the point at which, she realized that she was not actually on a vacation but rather, her family had escaped Poland's communist regime. In 1987 the Australian government accepted Dr. Canseco's family as political refugees and they moved to Sydney Australia where she grew up. She spent most of her childhood rescuing injured birds, helping stray dogs find their owners and volunteering at animal shelters and veterinary clinics. Dr. Canseco has dreamed of becoming a veterinarian since she can remember. Her mother is a physician and her father a dentist. She grew up exposed to the world of medicine, but the only medicine she was ever interested in pertains to animals. In 2002, Dr. Canseco obtained a bachelor of Interior Architecture degree with first class honors from the University of New South Wales, Australia. She practiced Interior Architecture for over 10 years, both in San Diego and Sydney. However, as much as she enjoys architecture and design, her true passion lies with Veterinary Medicine.
