Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Aaron Rhoades spent his childhood between San Diego and South Carolina. His father was a zoo educator, so from a very early age he was exposed to the fascinating world of animals. His love for animals only grew, and he earned a degree in Biology from Northern Arizona University. He then moved back to San Diego where he had the pleasure of working for two of San Diego's most respected exotics veterinarians before attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and earning his DVM degree. During veterinary school, Dr. Rhoades traveled to Africa and helped to provide medical care to many species of wildlife, worked with sea turtles off the Carolina coast, and completed an externship at San Diego's Wild Animal Park. He has worked in general practice in Long Island and in San Diego, and has worked at El Cajon Valley Veterinary Hospital since 2008. Dr. Rhoades has a special interest in preventative medicine, surgery, and client education. His wife is a veterinarian as well, and they have two children, three dogs, three cats, and a California Desert Tortoise to keep their lives interesting.
